Anti-Bridezillas

I don't like the show entitled 'Bridezillas' on WE tv.

The women on the show are depicted as selfish and whiny. Some are even shown as being abusive to others--most notably their grooms-to-be.

For example, I saw one episode when the 'bridezilla' called her future groom a 'fat pig' for buying a small bag of doughnuts, deeming him as 'disguisting.'

There was another episode where a bride forced her will on her groom-to-be by grabbing his privates. She also abused her best friend/Maid of Honor In. Front. Of. The. Latter's. Child.

I find this very disturbing.

It would be one thing if it was a show that portrayed the horrible truth about domestic abuse/violence.

It would be one thing if it was part of a spoof or comedy skit that exaggerated or caricatured such unlikeable individuals--I'll admit to being amused by such depictions myself

But this is a reality show. It's not a comedy nor is it a meaningful show that depicts the painful truth of abuse and/or the pain of those who go through it or those who have survived it.

I feel that this show does nothing but teach young girls that hitting a male is perfectly fine and acceptable.

If this was a show about grooms hitting, degrading, and all-in-all abusing their brides-to-be the grooms would have been sent to jail and the show would have been off the air before the first season was finished.

But for some reason when it's a bride hitting, degrading, and all-in-all abusing her groom it's fine.
